In the Genesis account, Scripture tells us that God shaped man in His own image (1:27) anticipated his loneliness and created a wife exactly suited for him (2:22). One man cleaving to one woman, bearing children, raising them in the fear of the Lord.

Be fruitful and multiply” (Gen. 1:28), is the first “cultural mandate” given to man. It is morally so biblically based as to be the self-evident foundation of civilization.

MARRIAGE DEFINITIONS

1. The legal union of a man and a woman as husband and wife. (American Heritage College Dictionary)

2. To dwell together – sexually – cohabitation. (Hebrew translation, Old Testament, Strong’s Expanded Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible)

3. Give in marriage – espouse a thugater (female) to an aner (man). (Greek translation, New Testament, Strong’s Expanded Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible) In the Greek, “aner” is NEVER used of the female sex.

The very future of society rests upon well socialized children being produced to replace the dying. Only a man and a woman can produce a child. Because marriage between a man and a woman is so important to the survival of the human race, it is encouraged through higher social status, tax breaks, etc.

Unlike heterosexual sex, which is necessary to continue the human race, sodomy entertains its participants, but contributes nothing in return. Most heterosexuals die after contributing financially to society, where the opposite is true of most homosexuals, who (because of HIV and STD infections) die at a much earlier age, and before contributing financially to society.

THE AIDS INDUSTRY

Mike Ivey, writing in a Sept.1991 issue of the Capital Times, made a statement that is still true today: “AIDS is still, with few exceptions, a disease of gays and drug-users. There can be no denying that fact.”

· Federal AIDS spending for 2003 amounted to $1.64 million per each of the 8,963 AIDS related deaths totaling $14.7 billion (Center for Disease Control). By comparison only $2.58 billion was spent on 710,760 deaths from heart disease.

· A 1998 study by “Inquiry,” in AHCPR Research Activities, indicated that more than 50% of AIDS patients had no health insurance at the onset of the disease and eventually become dependent on state and federal support.

· Medicaid provides about 70% of the total public funding for AIDS health care. (The Kaiser Foundation on Medicaid)

Since the first recorded cases of AIDS in 1981, sex between men has directly contributed to over 70% of AIDS deaths and more than 90% indirect deaths in the U.S. and Wisconsin. (Center for Disease Control-CDC) Although homosexuals account for only 1% to 2% of the U.S. population, the CDC states that sex between men contributes to over 60% of sexually transmitted diseases, and that “bisexual men are a ‘bridge’ for HIV transmission to heterosexual women.”

AIDS spending (for a disease that is for the most part 100% preventable) is the biggest rip-off in the history of the American tax payer!

THE HOMOSEXUAL AGENDA

These are a few of the demands of homosexual activists in Washington, D.C. at the Gay Pride March in April 1993 and Americas largest gay magazine, The Advocate:

1. Homosexual education programs in “all levels of education including elementary school.”

2. “Repeal of all state laws prohibiting solicitation for private sexual liaisons, and laws prohibiting prostitution, for both male and female.”

3. “Repeal of all laws governing the age of sexual consent.” (Legalized pedophilia)

4. “Gay marriage or - an end to marriage!”

5. “Endorsement of homosexuality by all religions and the rewriting of Scripture.”

6. “The abolishment of sodomy laws.”

7. “Safe and affordable abortion available without restriction and regardless of age.”

“If all these things do not come to pass quickly, we will subject Orthodox Jews and Christians to the most sustained hatred and vilification in recent memory.” (The Advocate)

Focus on the Family Director Dr. James Dobson stated, “When the word hate is mentioned by homosexuals one has to be aware of what direction it is coming from.”

Another statement in the “The Advocate” says, “The teachings that only male-female sexuality activity within the bounds and constraints of marriage as the only acceptable form should be reason enough for any homosexual to . . . denounce the Christian religion .”

Writing in “Out Magazine,” Homosexual activist Michelangelo Signorile states that homosexuals should “fight for same-sex marriage and its benefits and then, once granted, redefine the institution of marriage completely . . . .The most subversive action lesbians and gays can undertake is to transform the notion of ‘family’ entirely.”

INFIDELITY AMONG SAME SEX COUPLES

Most homosexual partnerships last only an average of a year and a half. (Study Finds Gay Unions Brief, Washington Times June 03) By comparison, more than two-thirds of heterosexual marriages in America last longer than 10 years. (U.S. Department of Health and Family Services}

· Anne Peplau, a psychology professor at the University of California at Los Angeles, acknowledges that 100% of homosexual couples that had been together for 5 years or more had incorporated some provision for outside sexual activity in their relationships

· Two Harvard-trained gay men wrote the book “After the Ball,” published by Doubleday in 1989. The book acknowledges that the “cheating ratio of partnered gay males, given enough time, approaches 100%.”

· The Institute for Marriage and Public Policy published a Swedish study titled, “Same-Sex Unions and Divorce Risk.” The study found that “gay male couples were 50% more likely to divorce than heterosexual couples and lesbians were 167% more likely than opposite sex couples.

· A 2003 Dutch study published in the journal “AIDS,” determined that “homosexuals have no intention of remaining monogamous even if they win the right to marry.”

· A 2003 survey of couples who entered into Vermont’s civil unions between 2000 and 2001 revealed only 50% of men insisted on monogamy within their unions. (Nation Health and Social Life)

· In their book “The Male Couple,” homosexuals David McWhirter, M.D., and Andrew Mattison, Ph.D., describe the results of interviewing 156 male couples and concluded that in these relationships, “fidelity is not defined in terms of sexual behavior, but rather their emotional commitment to one another.”

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

· A survey, “Major Scientific Study Examines Domestic Violence Among Gay Men,” by NARTH, and published in The American Journal of Public Health, found that 39% of men in homosexual relationships had been battered by their sex partner within the last 5 years. In contrast, only 7.7% of heterosexual men reported abuse during their entire lifetime.

· Homosexual men are 18 times more likely to be battered by their sex partner than heterosexual married men. Women, in an on-going lesbian relationship experience, a 4 to 10 time’s higher possibility of battery than heterosexual married women. (U.S. Justice Department’s Bureau of Justice Statistics)

· The popular homosexual magazine “Genre,” issued a statement in 1991 that “an estimated 500,000 homosexual men are battered each year by their sexual partners.”

· One out of ten homicides in San Francisco is the result of sadomasochistic sex among homosexuals. (Associated Press)

· Homosexual activists Island and Letellier in their book “Men Who Beat the Men Who Love Them,” write, “It is likely the incidence of domestic violence among gay men is far greater than that of heterosexual men.”

· A quote in the San Francisco Sentinel, March 1992 states, “Love between men and boys is at the foundation of homosexuality.”

WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY?

Religious trends during the past few decades have made today’s debate over homosexuality inevitable. In a number of dominations, the Bible’s Old Testament moral statements are seen as irrelevant to our culture. Pro-homosexual scholars argue that Christians are no longer under the Mosaic Law.

But it is important to note that a statement by Jesus (Son), or any New Testament writer, cannot contradict a commandment by God (Father). For a Christian to state otherwise is heresy!

We must then, distinguish the dietary or ceremonial laws abolished in the New Testament – Mark 7:19, Luke 22:20, Heb. 10:8-10 from the moral laws reinforced in the New Testament and still applicable today. (Mark 7:20-23, Matt. 5:27, 28)

The important distinction between these laws is reflected in the Old Testament penalties for breaking them. Disobedience to the ceremonial laws resulted in uncleanness (Lev. 11:24, etc.), while breaking the moral laws meant death (Lev.20). Scripture states God’s moral laws do not change, and His Word “stands forever” (Isa.40:8). “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law and the Prophets? I did not come to destroy but to fulfill” (Mat 5:17).

Historically, one cannot deny the fact that from the time of Sodom, the term “sodomites,” describes a lifestyle that throughout civilized society has been considered sinful and inexcusably wicked.

In Genesis 19:4-7, the men of Sodom call out to Lot and said, “Where are the men which came into thee this night? Bring them out unto us, that we might know (have sexual intercourse) them.” The Hebrew word translated “know” in this passage is “yada,” the same word used in Genesis 4:1, “And Adam ‘knew’ his wife and she conceived.” Sodomy and allied practices were known in late Latin as peccatum sodomiticum, “sin of Sodom.”

Homosexual sin cuts to the heart of the creation covenant. It exchanges the “truth of God for a lie,” as Romans 1:25 put it. Homosexuality is a deliberate rejection of God’s mandate and mocks God’s living design and order.

It is perhaps the most radical rebellion against God, the rudest rejection of God’s authority, saying to the Creator that “HE MADE A MISTAKE!”

God does not defend men and women who have sex with their own gender as normal. To the contrary, it’s a lifestyle, which is openly condemned in the Bible more than any other specific sin.

In Leviticus 18:22 and 20:13, the words “abomination” and “defile yourselves” are used. Abomination comes from the Hebrew word “to’eiva,” meaning “something disgusting.” Defile comes from the original Greek word “arsenokoites,” meaning “abuser of self with mankind.”

In Deuteronomy 23:18, the word “dog” translates from the Hebrew word “gedesh,” meaning “one practicing sodomy.” Judges 19:22 lists “perverted,” Romans 1:24-29 uses terms such “lusts,” “uncleanness,” “vile passions,” “the natural for what is against nature,” “shameful,” “debased mind,” “not fitting,” “unrighteousness,” “sexual immorality” and “evil.” Verse 32 states that those who approve of these actions are as guilty as those who practice them.

I Timothy 1:10 refers to “sodomites,” Jude 1:7 refer to “strange flesh,” and “suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.” I Corinthians 6:9-10 mention “homosexual offenders” in a long list of people who will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Was Jesus silent on the issue? No He was not! The number of times Jesus mentions the city of Sodom is second only to that of Jerusalem, and He always referred to Sodom in a very CONDEMNING manner. Jesus always upheld the Old Testament Law (Matt.5:17-19), which strictly condemns homosexual acts, and affirmed celibacy as the only legitimate alternative to heterosexual marriage (Matt. 19:12).

THE TRUTH MAY HURT, BUT IT’S STILL THE TRUTH

Instead of strengthening relationships, the legalization of same-sex marriage will, in time, weaken the whole marital structure.

· Since same sex marriage was legalized in Scandinavia, Hoover Institution researcher Stanley Kurtz has documented that 80% of first born children are now born out of wedlock, and 60% of children born there-after are born to unwed parents, indicating that people now believe there is no need for heterosexuals to marry to legitimize parenthood.

God is not affirming, accepting, and tolerant of sin! In 1 Thessalonians 4:3, Paul states a universal, unchangeable commandment of God! “For this is the will of God, your sanctification, that you should abstain from immorality.”

God has a created order in which He has decreed only proper sexual intimacies occur within heterosexual marriage. This includes Judaism, Protestantism and Catholicism. “The unitive relationship between lovemaking and procreation is reserved for marriage.” (Father Paul Marx OSB) Only pagan religions differ! Now, we may not like that, but that’s the truth, regardless of any interpretive gymnastics we attempt.

THE SUPREME COURT SAID IN 1885 . . .

“For certainly, no legislation can be supposed more wholesome and necessary in the founding of a free, self-governing commonwealth than that which seeks to establish it on the basis of the idea of the family, as consisting in and springing from the union for life of one man and one woman in the holy estate of matrimony.”

The life of any homosexual person is no less precious than that of a heterosexual – but it isn’t more important either! Every law abiding American citizen should have equal rights, but it should not be based strictly because of that person’s recreational sexual activity.

THE RESIDENTS OF WISCONSIN HAVE SPOKEN

Two thirds of the residents of Wisconsin disapprove of laws allowing homosexuals to marry members of the same sex gender. (Wisconsin State Journal Badger Poll conducted by the University of Wisconsin Survey Center)

The further homosexual behavior is “normalized” to the point of considering marriage, as we know it, the more clearly those with eyes to see will recognize that our destruction is upon us!
