FACT
– In
Wisconsin during 1997, your Federal and State taxes funded 8.3
million dollars directly for AIDS—the equivalent of more
than $104,000 for each AIDS death, but only $35
for each death from heart disease and stroke (Federal only) and
$568 per death for (certain) cancers. Yet
heart disease and stroke in Wisconsin
during 1997 accounted for 17,300 deaths,
and cancer for 10,500, while AIDS accounted for
only 80 as the underlying cause of death.
Funding per AIDS death is almost 3,000 times more
than that for heart disease and stroke, and 200
times more than for cancer. ( Wisconsin
Dept. of Health / Nation Center
for Health Statistics)
FACT
– During
1997, AIDS funding by the City of Madison
and Dane
County , from your
tax dollars, to the Madison
AIDS Network totaled $514,904. There
is no city or county funding for any other disease. In
Dane County
during this same year, 566 people
died as a result of cancer, 934 from circulatory
disease, and only 6 from AIDS. Interestingly,
over 55 percent of the 1.5 million dollars funded through
various sources (1.2 million from your tax dollars) to the Madison
AIDS Network each year goes to pay salaries and benefits!
Of the total income in 1998 of $7,948,493
for the AIDS
Resource Center
of Wisconsin
, $4,421,230 was used for salaries and benefits. (Wisconsin

1994 / AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin revenue for 1998)
FACT
- Surprisingly,
as many people die from reaction to aspirin each year as from AIDS.
Last year, more people in the
U.S. died of pneumonia and flu,
from Alzheimer’s, cirrhosis of the liver, Lyme disease or even from
falls than from AIDS. ( Wisconsin Dept.
of Health / National
Center for Health Statistics
/ Jeff Jacoby, the Boston
Globe)
FACT
– The first recorded AIDS case’s in the
U.S. was in the mid to late 1970’s, and occurred in
New York ,
Los Angeles , and
San Francisco . At first it was called
GRID, which stands for Gay Related Immune Deficiency. This
name was given because homosexual men were the only patients.
In 1981 the first reported AIDS case (by that name) was recorded
by the Center for Disease Control. AIDS stands for Acquired
Immune Deficiency (Acquired because you get it from someone
else). The case was known as patient “Zero”, a possible
Air Canada
steward from Montreal
, who die in 1984. He contacted the disease as a result
of sex with other men. (Wisconsin Dept of Health
and Family Services, Division of Public Health – Center for Disease
Control – The 20th Century, with Mike Wallace, A&E
Television Network, – AIDS, What the Government Isn’t Telling
You, Dr. Lorraine Day, Rockford Press, Palm Desert, CA. – WI State
Journal, 6/23/99.
FACT
– The
first recorded AIDS case in Wisconsin was in 1982.
Records indicate that the recipient was a male who contacted the
disease as a result of sex with other men, and
came to Milwaukee
from another state. Statistics show that the number of heterosexual
women diagnosed with AIDS is increasing, and sex with infected
bisexual men is the leading cause. The disease
is then passed on to their newborn children. (WI. Dept.
of Health and Family Services) See statistics above concerning
heterosexual contact.
FACT
– Hate crime hoax in schools. During 1997 and
1998, the State of Wisconsin Department of Justice Assistance recorded
a total of 14,734 aggravated assaults, only one of which was listed
against a person because of his or her sexual orientation at school.
FACT
– Although it cannot
be proven that homosexuals account for more than 2% of the U.S.
population, the Center for Disease Control reports the homosexual
lifestyle accounts for more than 50% of sexually transmitted diseases.
FACT
– The average age
of death for U.S.
married men is 75 years as compared to 42 years for homosexuals
– 79 years for married women as compared to 45 years for lesbians.
(Cameron Medical Consequences)
FACT
– Seventy-five
percent of individuals around the world infected with AIDS live
in sub-Saharan Africa , where uncontrolled perverted sexual activity
gives AIDS fertile ground to spread. (World HIV and AIDS Statistics)
Rabbi David Eidensohn, director of the National Non-Sectarian
Council of Pro-Family Activists states, “Gays do not have the right
to infect themselves and others and make us pay for it.” Barnyard
treatment for irresponsible behavior is demeaning. Mons. Jacques
Suaudeau, Pontifical Council for the Family observes, “We have dealt
with man as if he were an animal treated by a veterinarian, rather
than a human being created in the image of God.”
Behind
the above statistics are countless crushed lives. The life
of an AIDS patient is no less precious than that of someone with
any other disease. But it isn’t more precious, either.
Besides, AIDS is simple to avoid. Unlike
most cancers, unlike muscular dystrophy, unlike Lou Gehrig’s Disease,
unlike diabetes, unlike Alzheimer’s, the statistics above prove
that the vast majority of AIDS cases are caused by willful behavior.
Anyone that abstains from sex or has sex only with a faithful
spouse, and does not use intravenous drugs, has much less chance
of getting AIDS then dying in an airplane crash, being killed by
a donkey, or winning the Powerball Lottery Jackpot.
Since only the act of sodomy differentiates an active
homosexual from a heterosexual, it is hard to justify preferential
handling for a disease almost anyone can prevent! Sarah
Ruden, a freelance writer who lives near Cape Town, South Africa,
declares, “The Christian churches are best positioned to bear the
greatest responsibility . . . . they can fit traditional teachings
about chastity and monogamy into programs to fight the disease.”
We
want reason in this debate, not rhetoric. We’re asking you
to re-examine the truth of homosexuality and AIDS
with ALL the facts in hand, apart from half-truths and hostile
name-calling. If you really love someone, you’ll tell
them the truth. Love without truth is simply empty affection,
but truth in love can give hope. AIDS is a
recreational and preventable disease, primarily spread by
a destructive lifestyle!
THINK
ABOUT IT.
