CREATION VS. EVOLUTION
No Excuse
For since the creation of the world,
God's invisible qualities,
His eternal power, and divine nature,
have been clearly seen,
being understood from what has been made,
so that men are without excuse.
Romans 1:20 How Important Is It?
"Christianity has fought, still fights, and will fight science to the desperate end over evolution, because evolution destroys utterly and finally the very reason Jesus' earthly life was supposedly made necessary. Destroy Adam and Eve and the original sin, and in the rubble you will find the sorry remains of the Son of God – take away the meaning of his death.
If Jesus was not the redeemer that died for our sins, and this is what evolution means, then Christianity is nothing." Richard Bozarth, "The Meaning of Evolution," American Atheist, Sept. 1979, p. 30.
Facts, Faith and Imagination
"At any rate, almost everything in Hawkin's book is based on his fertile imagination and logical speculation, with almost no visible evidence or proof. This appears to differentiate his work from fiction, which is almost always based on obvious, demonstrable fact. In another way, however, physics is a lot like fiction, or income tax calculating, in that when there is a conflict between the world and an intellectual construct, the author adjusts the world to fit an imagined plot." Roger L. Welsch, "Astrophys Ed," Natural History, February 1994, pp. 24, 25.
Time and Death are Key – Evolution
"The secrets of evolution are time and death. Time for the slow accumulations of favorable mutations, and death to make room for new species." Carl Sagan, "Cosmos," program entitled "One Voice in the Cosmic Fugue." "Time is, in fact, the hero of the plot... given so much time the ‘impossible' becomes possible, the possible probable and the probable virtually certain. One has only to wait: time itself performs miracles." George Wald, "The Origin of Life," Physics and Chemistry of Life, 1955, p. 12.
Sin is Key – Creation
The Bible teaches that death is the direct result of sin: "Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin , and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned." Romans 5:12
Preconceptions Affect Interpretation of the Objective Data
"Biology professor George Hunt of the University of California-Irvine led a field trip to the Channel Islands near Oxnard, Calif., where he had originally spotted what he called "lesbian sea gulls" in the 1970's. Hunt had reported then that 14 percent of the 1,200 gull pairs he studied were lesbian. He admitted that he cannot tell males and females apart, but inferred because of the larger number of eggs in some nests that the hatching pair of gulls on those nests were both female. Chuck Shepherd, News of the Weird, The Salt Lake Tribune, October 24, 1993
One Common Ancestor
Indeed, no one argues with the idea that all modern humans inherited their mitochondrial DNA from one common female ancestor. Ann Gibbons, "Mitochondrial Eve: Wounded, But Not Dead Yet", Science, Vol. 257, 14 August 1992, p. 873
The Fossil Record
Darwin believed that the fossil record would reveal thousands or millions of life forms which would demonstrate a gradual change from one kind to another (called transitional forms).
No Gradual Changes
The extreme rarity of transformational forms in the fossil record remains the trade secret of paleontologists . Dr. Stephen Jay Gould, Harvard University, professor of Biology
We are about 120 years after Darwin and the knowledge of the fossil record has been greatly expanded. We now have a quarter of a million species but the situation hasn't changed much. The record of evolution is still surprisingly jerky and, ironically, we have fewer examples of evolutionary transition than we had in Darwin's time .
Dr. David M. Raup, Curator of Geology, Museum of Natural History, Chicago
Life Is Just Too Complex
Complex functions like vision and digestion are performed by intricate biochemical molecular machines. These consist of a number of different, yet vital, interrelated parts. If one part was missing, the whole machine would not function. This is known as irreducible complexity, and complexity means design, and design always points to a Designer.
Why Evolution Can't Be Theistic :
The Darwinian theory doesn't just say that God created slowly. It says that naturalistic evolution is the creator, by random chance mutations, and that God had nothing to do with it.
Where is Evolution Taking Us?
We no longer feel ourselves to be guest in someone else's home and therefore obliged to make our behavior conform with a set of pre-existing cosmic rules. It is our creation now. We make the rules. We establish the parameters of reality. We create the world, and because we do, we no longer feel beholden to outside forces. We no longer have to justify our behavior, for we are now the architects of the universe. We are responsible to nothing outside ourselves, for we are the kingdom, the power, and the glory for ever and ever . Rifkin, Algeny , p.244

Darwin on Trial , Phillip Johnson. Examines the scientific evidence upon which the Darwinian theory is built.
Darwin's Black Box , Michael Behe. A microbiologist examines the irreducible complexity of even the "simplest" life forms.
Defeating Darwinism By Opening Minds , Phillip Johnson. Learn how to spot faulty analogies and other forms of poor logic, and grasp the soundest scientific data exposing the errors of classical evolution.
The Long War Against God , Henry M Morris, This book shows the devastating impact of evolution in all fields of study and all phases of individual and national life. It then traces the various forms of this same deception throughout its dark history as it has continually fought the "everlasting Gospel." It also demonstrates the ultimate triumph of the Creator Redeemer, Jesus Christ.
Five Lies of the Century , David Moore, A presentation of the misunderstandings of modern American culture that are literally wrecking civilization and crippling the impact of the Church. |
